about
I translated Mina's Song in 2010, and when Daniel and I recorded it for my 2011/12 album "Nachtcafé we arranged it in a style that was a bit more rocky-and-angry than the other versions.
Did you find the Easter Egg in the third verse? It's the melody of Jonathan's Song in the background, the song that tells us the husband's view of the story. (And yes, I translated that one, too, but there is no recording yet.)
lyrics
Minas Lied
Man sagt mir: Alles in Ordnung.
Warum also fühl' ich mich einsam, verraten
mit meinem Mann nächtens allein?
Warum macht es mich nicht mehr glücklich,
in Ordnung zu sein?
Man sagt mir: Alles in Ordnung.
bin in Ordnung, na fein:
verdammt, für ein sinnloses Leben
in Ordnung zu sein.

Zanda Myrande/Zander Nyrond/Jonathan Waite/Andrew Lyng had many names. Zanda was the newest (only found in 2016) and
probably the most important one.
Zan was an amazing writer, songwriter, and person, and her brain was basically an ant hill where every ant carried a book around.
She died very suddenly in July 2019, aged 63.
